Ron Boehm has been actively involved in local church development and planting for 35 years, giving him a wealth of experience and insight to share with church planters. Ron’s first lead pastoral role was with an unfinished church plant in Bowling Green, Ohio, which he successfully led to self-support status and a productive ministry. Following the establishment of the Bowling Green Church, Ron moved his family of six to the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. It was there he planted a new church, beginning with a handful of faithful people who shared the vision of reaching others for Christ through church planting. He pastored this church for 15 years and continues his involvement with its local ministry while coaching church planters and working with church- planting leaders throughout the Midwest.
Ron especially appreciates the need for church planters to have a coach as they face the difficult work of establishing a new community of believers. While he himself has a breadth of experience and an informed understanding of the work of church planting, he knows that in order for every church planter to have a coach, many leaders must be trained to effectively come alongside these spiritual entrepreneurs and help them courageously work through the challenges they will face with grace, truth, wisdom, and insight.
Many church planters are young with growing families, giving them the added burden of caring for their spouses and children. Ron and his wife, Chery, raised four children while planting a church and they believe that their ministry work enhanced their parenting and vice versa. Coaches help the church planters and their wives maintain healthy perspectives to thrive in their homes as they fulfill their calling.
Ron has a burden for reaching the unchurched and de-churched through effect-ive, relevant church planting and development, particularly among the younger adults in our society. He is a graduate of Grace Theological Seminary and strives to keep current on North American church planting strategies and concepts. He sees coaching as an indispensable practice for responsible church planting and is devoted to its widespread practice.
