The Hispanic population of North America is comprised of people from 21 different countries, countries with their own unique sense of culture apart from their shared Hispanic culture. Add to that the fact that Hispanics born in North America who are first, second or third-generation have a very different view of their culture from those who emigrate to North America as adults. Jesus Munoz, a native of El Salvador, has lived in the United States for many years and has a deep understanding of the diversity of Hispanic culture. He is keenly aware of the diversity of Hispanic culture, knowing that in order to reach the Hispanic people in North America and abroad, it is essential to plant churches that are relevant to each particular segment of Hispanic culture.
Jesus accepted Christ at an early age, and while he began his professional career as a mechanical engineer, he has long had a heart for serving God in missions. His dream began in earnest shortly after earning his M.A. in Theology from Grace Theological Seminary in 1993, when he began his involvement with church planting by moving to Tampa, Florida to work with the city’s Hispanic population.
Since moving to Tampa, Jesus has worked on church planting projects from the ground up, discipling leaders and overseeing the planting of five Hispanic Grace Brethren churches, churches which have in turn developed leaders and led many hundreds of Hispanic people to Christ.
Jesus’ work expanded to mentoring and training pastors across the United States, helping them to disciple leaders and plant even more churches. The task is still massive, however, with the U.S. having the second largest Hispanic population in the world, and yet no more than two percent of Hispanics in the U.S. attend church or have a relationship with Christ.
An expert in training and church planting, Jesus continues the work of reaching the Hispanic people for Christ with Go2, using his gifts and talents to develop strategic oversight and church planting implementation programs among the Spanish-speaking people of North America.
