Portuguese is the world’s sixth most-spoken language. From the shores of Portugal in the colonial era, the ships of this great nation spread the customs, culture, and language to the new world of Brazil and to the African nations of Angola and Mozambique, to name a few.
Brazilian immigrants especially are relocating in large numbers to North America, settling mostly in the cities along the East Coast of the U.S. and in Toronto, Canada.
Antonio Figueira has long been burdened for a church planting movement among Portuguese-speaking peoples and specializes in connecting pastors and church planters from these countries with church plants in their new North American homes. All over the Portuguese-speaking world this phenomenon occurs, making North America ripe for a Portuguese church planting movement.
Antonio is a graduate of Word of Life Biblical Seminary, a renowned musician, and recognized church planting pastor and leader in his native Portugal. We are grateful for his leadership on behalf of Go2 in North America and around the world among the Portuguese-speaking people groups.
