Planting Stories
Our church planters come from all walks of life — from various stages of life. Each one is called to minister to the lost, assessed to determine their giftedness and trained to be fully effective in the field.
Featured Story:
Flavio and Rosa Niehues, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
When the newly-formed Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based Brazilian Bible Church found themselves without a Portuguese-speaking pastor, Go2’s Antonio Figueira was able to facilitate that need.
Antonio knew of a dentist, Flavio Niehues, and his wife, Rosa, also a dentist. Both are natives of Brazil who met in Portugal 18 years ago, when Flavio answered God’s call to become a tent-making church planter in Portugal, where subsequently he planted three churches. The two married and now together work to fulfill the call of God on their lives to full-time Christian ministry.
Responding in faith to the call of God, the Niehues’ left a thriving dental practice in Portugal and resettled in the U.S., marking their second immigration pilgrimage. This time, however, it was not to pursue their dental profession, but a new-found profession of ministering to a new and growing church plant.
